Communications Specialist

EVOLVE is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Communications Specialist with a starting salary range of $35,000 – 40,000 DOQ.  This position offers a flexible schedule mostly within the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Friday out of our EVOLVE East Office in Stillwater and reports to the Development & Communications Director. Occasional nights and weekends for special events, development meetings and conference or trade show booth management are required. The purpose of this position is to implement EVOLVE’s marketing and communication strategies to reach new client audiences, increase event attendance and promote our programs and services.

Qualified candidates have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related degree that includes communications and marketing skill sets ~ commitment to EVOLVE’s mission and values.

Adoption Social Worker

EVOLVE is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Adoption Social Worker. This is a 32-40 hour per week position, Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30, with occasional evening and weekend hours, based primarily out of our Stillwater location, with some hours in our Bloomington office. Starting pay hiring range is $17-18 per hour DOQ. Under the general direction of Program Managers, this position works directly with domestic and international adoptive families. The main responsibilities of this position include: home study assessments including interviews, home visits, pre-adoption counseling, facilitation of pre-adoption education, written reports; provide information and support for families during the adoption process; post placement visits, support and written reports, provide counseling and support to families across the lifespan. Potential for providing back up support in pregnancy services.

Other Job Duties: Develop and maintain sensitivity to client and employee diversity in the work place. Behave in ways that demonstrate respectful treatment of other employees and clients. Develop cultural competence related to the services provided by the agency. Build community support for the organization by recruiting families, volunteers and donors.

Accounting and Administrative Specialist

EVOLVE is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accounting and Administrative Specialist who will report to the Finance Director. This is a part-time position offers a starting wage of $16-19 per hour and has a flexible schedule with an average of 24 hours a week. Due to work flow, there may be an increased need the first 2 weeks of each month and decreased need last 2 weeks of each month. The purpose of this position is to maintain complete and accurate financial and other business records needed for optimum operation; coordinate business operations of the agency related to human resources and office management.

Qualified candidates have earned an associate degree in finance or business, and have 2-5 years financial accounting and human resources experience in the nonprofit sector. They will also be proficient using Excel, Outlook and Word.

Foster Care Family Worker

EVOLVE is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Family Worker – Foster Care. This is a full-time position offers a starting wage of $16-18 per hour and requires occasional evening and weekend hours. Benefits include medical insurance, generous paid time off, 12 paid holidays, flexible schedule and other supportive benefits. The purpose of this position is to assess, license and support foster homes with a focus on relative/kinship families and communities of color. Over 80% of our foster families are families of color representing a disproportionate representation of youth in foster care needing a safe home. This position will also be engaged in recruiting families, training and operating culturally-appropriate foster care programs to provide high quality services to youth. The position requires in-depth knowledge of communities of color and a variety of cultures.

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, this client services focused position works directly with individuals and families desiring to provide homes for children in foster care. The Worker also provides direct service to prospective and current adoptive families, prioritizing the client (child and parent) at all times. The Worker provides home study assessments for foster care licensing. This person will also be responsible for supervising and monitoring placements.

Cultural understanding is necessary. This position will be in support of a program that will work primarily with diverse families in the Twin Cities. Applicants must have knowledge of, connections to and familiarity with the Twin Cities communities of color. Minimum education required is a baccalaureate degree in social work or similar degree or a combination of equivalent experience and training. Our foster care program is focused on recruiting / serving families who reflect the children in care; who are primarily children of color. In addition, we license relative and kinship families in order to help reduce a child’s time in the child protection system and find permanency within the child’s circle of familiarity. The Social Worker in this position needs to be committed to this focused effort.

Adoption Process Intern

EVOLVE is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Adoption Process Intern. The ideal candidate would be able to work 16-20 hours per week and be able to commit to a six month internship, however, a three month commitment is required. This position is based out of our Stillwater location. This is an unpaid position with a chance to gain valuable experience in the field of adoption.

Job Duties include: client intake, dossier assistance, home study process support, special projects as assigned, and general office duties.

High school diploma required. Bachelors Degree or Vocational/technical school degree and 2+ years of related office experience is preferred. Must be proficient with computers and have a high level of written and oral communication skills, as well as able to pass a criminal background check as required by Minnesota and Wisconsin law.
