Outpatient Therapy Services
People seek out therapy for a variety of reasons - life transitions, stressors, parenting and caregiver support, relationship support, mental health, mental health diagnoses, adoption, out-of-home placements, identity exploration, etc.
EVOLVE’s Outpatient mental health clinic offers therapeutic support to children, families, couples, and individuals from a child-focused and person-centered, strengths-based approach. Our therapists provide mental health support through a trauma and attachment informed lens, are adoption competent, and culturally responsive. During the COVID-19 health pandemic, therapy sessions are being offered via telehealth, or occasionally in-home if covered by insurance. When it is safe to be fully functional in our offices, therapy sessions are offered at our two office locations (West St. Paul & Stillwater).
EVOLVE's Therapists are Adoption Competent
EVOLVE's experienced therapists have a working understanding of loss, attachment, trauma, and brain development, as well as knowledge of issues associated with adoption. Our therapists can help address the concerns of adoptive parents and effectively work with their children. Additionally, our therapists recognize the unique complexities of adult adoptees and support their journey in how they understand their adoption story.
Therapy Client Testimonials
"Because I believe in EVOLVE’s mission, and commitment to families and youth (and their parents) I felt this was a safe outlet. I won’t be judged. I’ll be supported as a mom, as a woman as an individual.
After meeting my therapist, and asking about her comfort level of working with a GLBT family, I liked her answer. While she does not identify GLBT, her response added another level of trust… so I would continue with the process.
My therapist genuinely cares about me as a person. My family situation. I feel like I am growing healthier by the day with a renewed lease on life. Nice to have someone to help see that."
"As a long time caretaker personality, parent, foster parent, adoptive parent, and healthcare role at work – I can help others easily and have never reached out for help myself. I started with EVOLVE through an invite for Umoja. Participating in the family weekend conferences and workshops that recognizes families like ours built the groundwork for a deeper trust. When I saw the newsletter introducing private therapy for a number of issues, I finally felt “safe” enough to do so.
The process for enrolling was done online. Very easy to do."
"EVOLVE offers a healthy, healing opportunity. At your own pace. Not a “shrink” lecturing you or only listening offering little feedback. Rather a skilled practitioner to partner with you in addressing your emotional needs. Listening, offering feedback and resources. In a safe, at your own pace, no-pressure manner. Professional boundaries, our time we agreed upon has always been the same time unless planned in advance to switch it slightly.
I would (and will) recommend EVOLVE therapists to family, friends, and coworkers."
