Torrion Amie
Torrion Amie was born to a single teenage mother in the projects of Phoenix, Arizona. He is a first-generation high school student. He’s experienced obstacles of generational poverty, situational homelessness, and domestic abuse. He was fortunate to have had sacred and secular counsel to face and eventually overcome these struggles. Currently, Mr. Amie is the coordinator of Living Spaces Inc. (new construction custom homes), and a realtor with REMAX Results. He also has expertise in raising capital funds for commercial projects and designing them.
Torrion was a faculty member, coach, and administrator in higher education and K12. For over 25 years he’s provided educational equity and excellence programs in these spaces. His key proficiencies are in improving team dynamics, poverty competency, cultural competency, and student development. He is a certified Poverty Coach through Communications Across Barriers, Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator, and a certified Strengths Coach through Gallup. He’s held leadership positions in three Federal TRIO programs. He’s won individual and team awards at the state level and beyond for his efforts in education. He is a published co-author of the workbooks Passport to College Success.
Mr. Amie currently serves on REMAX Result’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee and the Normandale Community College Foundation. He served alongside other equity-minded committees and boards such as UW-River Falls (Equity Score Card), The Educational Opportunity Association (MAEOPP), Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ), and the Bloomington Rotary.
Torrion earned a Master of Education in kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He’s currently pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry degree from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology.
