Our Story

Greg grew up in a small town on the St. Croix river with his older sister. He spent a lot of time with his dad hunting, fishing and camping. He still loves the outdoors and has added biking and golf to his interests. Greg is a mechanical engineer and he can fix almost anything. He’s always on a quest to make our home more functional, efficient and beautiful.

Rachel was raised in the suburbs of the Twin Cities and has a younger brother. As a kid, she enjoyed reading, crafting and playing outside. Rachel values open-mindedness, creativity, education and kindness. She currently creates educational programs for people wanting to get jobs as plumbers, electricians and HVAC technicians.

We met in 2008 via match.com and we’ve been going strong ever since. Our love of learning, travel and laughter brought us together and we feel very blessed to be each other’s best friend.

Milo joined our family via adoption in 2020. He’s the best kid and we love being his parents. We both grew up with siblings and really value that bond. We’re very excited to pursue adoption again and we know Milo will be a fabulous and supportive big brother.

Milo is an active and growing toddler. He loves to read (his favorite book is The Gruffalo) and his favorite movies is Shrek (we’ve watched it at least 100 times). We go to the park and have family picnics often. He enjoys the swings and has mastered going down the slide. He is very musical (loves playing instruments and dancing) and he adores spicy food. These are things he has in common with his birth parents and we are proud to nurture these similarities and talk about them.

We live in a western suburb of Minneapolis, and we love that there is always something fun going on. Our home is our sanctuary and we have put in a lot of sweat equity to make it even more beautiful. One of the nicest aspects of our area is that we’re surrounded by parks, playgrounds, bike paths and schools. We love growing herbs and veggies and enjoy the peace that comes with living in a small cul-de-sac. Our neighbors are awesome!

Our family includes two pets. Josie the dog and Sammy the cat are the best of friends. Both are young, but very kind and gentle. They are great with Milo, especially as he’s grown into a toddler. They joined our family from rescue organizations, and they fill our home with joy.

About Greg and Rachel (Written By Their Partner)

Greg is the funniest person I know. Truly a goofball. Milo's face lights up when Greg walks in the room. We laugh all of the time. He's a fantastic cook and we are spoiled because he makes us breakfast almost every day. Greg is an amazing dad because he's responsible, quick to laugh and he's a good teacher.

Rachel is my best friend, and the best wife a guy could ask for. She's always looking to gain new experiences and willing to try new things even if she doesn't have high expectations on the results! Ultimately, we just have a great time together no matter the activity. From lazy days on the couch to climbing down a mountain in Spain with no flashlights and the sun setting, there is nothing we can't do together.

A Message From Us Both

Please know that we come to adoption with an open heart and and open mind and we can't wait to get to know you. We're excited to show you all of the love and support your child will receive from us, our family, and friends. We recognize the roller coaster of emotions that the adoption process makes birth families feel. We hope that our experience can help. Together, we can navigate our adoption adventure and figure out what will work best for our unique relationship. We are holding you in our hearts and cheering you on!
