Successful Transition to Adulthood for Youth (STAY)
STAY empowers youth to imagine and define personal success regarding their independence.
EVOLVE staff works alongside youth to achieve their vision for autonomy.
STAY focuses on serving youth who have a history of foster care or out of home placement, emphasizing their transition to independence. Examples of eligible, out of home placement include:
- Group Homes
- Residential Care Services
- Residential Treatment Programs
- Foster Care
EVOLVE provides services at no cost to eligible teens, who have been in an approved, out of home placement for at least 30 days. Overarchingly, services focus on independent living goals, collaborative work, and enhancing support networks.
Focus areas include, but are not limited to:
- Self-advocacy
- Decision making
- Cultivating healthy relationships
- Transportation
- Education
- Financial literacy
- Home maintenance
- Holistic living
- Employment
- Housing
- Conflict resolution
- Chemical health
EVOLVE’s STAY incorporates these focus areas in independent case management, independent living skills group programming, and Youth Leadership Council (YLC). These services empower youth to be “the driver of their own bus” with assistance, support, and encouragement from a supportive adult invested in the youth’s self-defined success.
Furthermore, EVOLVE has a youth centered budget to assist in rent and/or apartment damage deposits for youth who participate in independent case management. EVOLVE has other funds to assist in applying for colleges and acquiring a learner’s permit/driver’s license.
