"There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer."

EVOLVE strives to make an impact in the lives of youth and families across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Our volunteers support the mission in many ways: providing strategic guidance to the organization, supporting the administrative work in the office, providing specialized skills or knowledge for short term projects, helping out on a single-day event, providing direct support to youth in our programs, and so much more. If you are considering volunteering with EVOLVE, please read on for more information, and complete the volunteer application below. We will be in touch!

Board Member

As a nonprofit, EVOLVE is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Tasked with oversight, board members supervise the Executive Director, provide philanthropic and financial oversight, and assist in strategic planning for the agency as a whole. Board Members commit to serving in 3 year terms, with a maximum of 2 consecutive terms. EVOLVE seeks a diverse group of volunteers for the board. Responsibilities include engaging in monthly board meetings, reviewing and approving policies and strategic plans, ensuring organizational compliance with regulations and best practices, and evaluating finances. A passion for or personal connection to the work in child welfare, adoption, or foster care is highly valued.

Office Volunteer

EVOLVE is always in need of Office Volunteers in a variety of capacities. Depending on how a volunteer is able to contribute, this role may require a background check prior to starting. Responsibilities may vary, but some tasks for office volunteers may include: assisting with organization of office supplies or files, scanning paperwork, filing of paper or digital files appropriately, assisting with finding adoption files for adoptees, data entry, or checking files for completeness. A passion for or personal connection to the work in child welfare, adoption, or foster care is highly valued.

Program Volunteer

Program Volunteers engage in many different ways. Some programming requires direct interaction, like our STAY or UMOJA programming, where volunteers work with youth in a mentorship capacity. Other program volunteers may come to EVOLVE events for youth or families. A passion for or personal connection to the work in child welfare, adoption, or foster care is highly valued.

Other Options

If you have not seen anything that calls to you yet, there are other opportunities available on a one-time or ongoing basis. Some other volunteer options include: assisting in outreach events, one-time needs such as gift wrapping at gift drives, assisting with community clean up days, and more. If you want to give time, but don't see anything that fits, please reach out and we will work to find a way to connect.
