Position Summary
This role is the main steward of the organization’s people, processes and resources. This role directly leads the areas of accounting, building operations, human resources, and information technology for a small nonprofit organization. This role collaborates with a managed IT service provider, and additionally partners with ADP as a professional employer organization (PEO) to assist with HR administration, guidance, employee benefits, payroll, and regulatory compliance. This role is a great fit for a finance professional who is interested in expanding outside of the accounting department.

Essential Functions
1. Perform General Ledger accounting, including journal entries, supporting schedules, and fiscal period close.
2. Report weekly to leadership team on key financial indicators, present financial reports to the board monthly.
3. Provide oversight and monitoring of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and recordings.
4. Lead year end processes, including: FYE closing, preparing 1099s, engaging auditors, and form 990 review.
5. Monitor the organizational cash flow, plan for liability use and repayment, ensure adequate cash reserves.
6. Oversee budgeting and financial forecasting for effective fiscal planning and evaluation of programs.
7. Liaise with the board treasurer and attend monthly board finance committee meetings.
8. Participate in weekly meetings of agency leaders, engage in solutions-focused problem-solving process.
9. Supervise department employees and volunteers directly providing AR, AP, HR, and IT support to the agency.
10. Manage relationships with high level business partners, including ongoing providers of HR and IT support.
11. Oversee the management of physical assets and infrastructure, plan for repairs and replacements as needed.
12. Continually assess and ensure adequate insurance coverage for the agency’s property, people and programs.
13. Advise on vendor sourcing and review contracts & agreements, assist in the vendor selection process.
14. Coordinate the investigation and reporting of incidents, accidents, injuries, and grievances.
15. Every 6 months, set 2 personal goals for growth in Diversity Equity Inclusion work, and share progress.
16. Participate in monthly discussions or learnings about Diversity Equity Inclusion topics at team meetings.

Desired Characteristics and Experience
This position must have at least 3 years of experience as a financial analyst and/or a general accountant. Experience in nonprofit accounting and finance at a leadership level strongly desired, as well as experience in managing and leading staff. Shared value in social justice with the ability to engage across differences in views, experiences, and beliefs, and willingness to participate in challenging conversations. Enjoy problem solving and engaging with others in collaborative solutions. Familiar with or able to effectively learn QuickBooks Online accounting software. This person must be able to pass a background check and FBI clearance check.

Work Environment
This hybrid role is for a Minnesota or Wisconsin based employee who can be in-office 2-3 times a week in Oak Park Heights, MN. The EVOLVE workspace is shared between members of the department. The EVOLVE office is a pet-friendly workplace. All employees are provided with a laptop to work from home, provided the employee maintains high-speed internet and cell phone service. Your home workspace must be conducive to performing your role. Whether at home, or at the office, this role requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk, while utilizing a computer to complete work. The hours of this role typically fall between 8:00a-5:00p with some flexibility. EVOLVE has opportunities to work at weekend events and programs.
