We are always looking for new community members to support African American youth and their families
If you are interested in being part of our camp, join us Today!
Camp Advisory Council: We are looking for former camp parents, adoptees, fostered youth, mentors, and anyone who has attended any UMOJA MN Black Heritage Camp to join the Black Heritage Camp Advisory Council. The council will meet virtually on February 26th from 7-8 PM to discuss opinions and feedback from camp attendees. Topics for discussion will include meal planning, classroom activities, and other relevant matters. We value your opinions and feedback.
Presenters: Do you have a skill, or talent that you would like to share with UMOJA Campers and families? We want you to share your skillset and teach our campers. Past presenters have taught and showcased Crump, Step, Jump Roping and Hair styling.
Camp teachers: Facilitate lessons for youth based on the lesson plans we provide. UMOJA staff will work with you to prepare for your lessons, and we will coordinate and provide all the materials you need to create a fun and enriching classroom environment. We hope to have 2-3 volunteers in each classroom to support each teacher and presenter with classroom management. Please invite your passionate and helpful friends and family to apply to volunteer!
Volunteers: Help with youth classroom lessons and other camp activities
Event volunteers: Assist staff with event activities and logistics
