Volunteer Recognition Day

April 20th is Volunteer Recognition Day!

Today is the day to talk about the importance of volunteers and recognize all volunteers do for nonprofit agencies around the world. These amazing individuals help work for agencies because they believe in their mission and giving back to their community. There is no exact reason why Volunteer Recognition Day is April 20th, however, it is always in the third week of April. This day is during the week of April 19th- April 25th, which is National Volunteer Week.

The concept of volunteering has been around for thousands of years. Volunteers around the world have done some amazing things for others, asking for nothing in return. Most volunteers do not even ask for recognition; they just want to help and to “give back” when and where they can. Although most volunteers do not ask for recognition, this day is set aside to show our appreciation to them and celebrate all that they do.

Thank you volunteers
