What’s In a Cabin?

Katelyn Geurkink, a student at the University of Minnesota, has an idea for the perfect cabin. An architect student, Katelyn had the privilege of taking part in the second annual design competition for the magazine Cabin Life.

The competition began when Georgia Bizios and Dale Mulfinger challenged their architecture students to design the perfect cabin.

Katelyn, who was internationally adopted through HOPE Adoption in Oak Park Heights, had a design that earned her 5th place in the competition. The cabin features a modern, cubic design with large windows in the gathering places and a central fireplace to provide heat to all three stories.
